Raphael Darbellay
Head of Treasury Operations, Global Service Centre
Raphaël is the Head of Treasury operations at the Global Service Centre (Manila, Philippines) of Regus Plc, a FTSE-250 company. He has performed this role since June 2013. Prior to taking this position, in late 2011, Raphaël was responsible for the day to day treasury operation of the global headquarters function based in Nyon, Switzerland.
He is a seasoned finance professional with more than 17 years’ experience in both banking and corporate treasury. Raphaël started his career in the 1990s as a bank officer at Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch & Cie, private bankers in Geneva, Switzerland. For a decade he has been appointed to various key roles within the private banking industry in Switzerland and London. In late 2004 he has left the Swiss banking club in order to enhance his international exposure. He then met the corporate treasury environment by joining the Canadian industry, NOVA Chemicals Inc.
During his time in treasury, Raphaël has actively contributed to the implementation and success of some crucial key treasury activities sitting either in the chemical industry such as INEOS NOVA International SA, or in the trading environment at ADDAX Energy SA. He has overseen the essential treasury core functions such as delivering a cash banking project with full automation across the North American, European and Asian regions, the development of group treasury policies, operational process optimisation/transformation, including the end to end process implementation of a treasury management system, or more recently, building-in a self-sustainable global treasury centre in Manila.
As a native of the Swiss mountains, Raphaël has spent his free time to teach the national sport to an international clientele at the Swiss Ski School. Raphaël and his children are also members of PADI association which allow them to enjoy the fabulous undersea’s environment of the Philippines.
