Head of Controlling, Asia
Martin Zemp started his career in 1996 with Credit Suisse, a retail bank in Zurich in the credit, retail clients department. He subsequently joined Petroplus (oil refining) in Zug and held the position of Head of Planning, Reporting and Analysis in Petroplus, before joining Diethelm Vietnam Co, Ltd in July 2008.
In Vietnam, Martin Zemp has in the capacity as Country Finance Manager overseen the finance organization of the country and has supported various corporate initiatives and projects including audit activities. In 2010, Martin Zemp joined DKSH Corporate Shared Services Center Sdn Bhd as Controller, Corporate Accounting and Reporting based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia leading group wide projects for the finance function of DKSH and additionally leading and managing all SSC financial activities as well as set up controlling activities for the group IT finances.
Since 2015, Martin is heading the regional controlling function for Damco, one of the world’s leading providers of freight forwarding and supply chain management services. In this capacity he is responsible for the setup and roll out of the control framework for the Asia region with strong focus on financial controls definition and process alignment following a recent restructuring. Being based in Singapore, the role is supported by the finance organization in the SSCs in Pune, Chennai & Chengdu.
Martin Zemp graduated from the University of Applied Sciences in Lucerne, Switzerland with a degree in Business Administration (Major in Finance). He has extensive international work experience, which includes Switzerland, the Netherlands, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore.
