Abdou has over 12 years of progressively responsible experience in financial risk management and analytics within the United Nations system and the Canadian banking sector.
He is passionate about sustainable development and is enthusiastic to leverage the use of robust financial analytics as a tool for building local development and advancing human dignity.
He joined the United Nations in 2010 where he assisted UNICEF finance division in financial analytics and system development including the rollout of the SAP to field offices. Moved the same year to UNDP headquarters in New York as Treasury Associate and then the Office of Finance in 2012 as Business Development officer. Since 2014, leads the UNDP Global Shared Service Center Analytics unit in Malaysia.
Before Joining the United Nations, he worked many years in the Canadian Banking sector as financial risk management officer for the Business Development Bank of Canada in Montreal, Chase Bank in Ottawa and B2B Trust in Toronto.
Abdou hold an Honors Bachelor degree in Finance from the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa Canada and a Master of Science in Finance from the Zicklin School of Management City University of New York.
He is certified Treasury Professional, member of the Association for Financial Professionals and fluent in English and French.
